Architecture
of Position

Before drawing a wall, we study where the land wants it. Estates, wineries and rural hospitality in Umbria and Tuscany.

The studio

An Italian architecture studio for those who choose a hillside in Umbria or Tuscany and intend to build a life on it.

From offices in Perugia and Florence, the studio designs the transformation of properties with land — historic estates, wineries, farmhouses becoming places of hospitality — for international and Italian clients. One direction, from the first walk on the site to the finished work.

Rural hospitality, facing Assisi

Agriturismo Alma — hospitality & agricultural production, € 2.5 M of works

On the agricultural margin of Assisi, an estate transformed into a continuous sequence of inhabited, cultivated and open spaces. Inclined walls of local stone turn the retaining structure into inhabited space; the visit unfolds as an ascent, until Rocca and Basilica settle into a single frame.

Approach — architecture of position

Facing the historic presence of Assisi, architecture does not seek centrality. It seeks position.

Every site in central Italy already belongs to a composition — a ridge of olive trees, the fall of a valley, the silhouette of a basilica. Architecture of position means measuring every wall, opening and terrace against topography, landscape and the historic city. It is the method behind Alma, and behind every commission the studio takes on.

From land to legacy

The same method, through six services

01Site & Acquisition

Feasibility and design due diligence before you buy: constraints, volumes, the real potential of the property.

02Architecture

Masterplan, restoration and new construction, measured against topography and landscape.

03Permitting & Heritage

Permits, landscape and heritage authorizations — the Italian process, managed on your behalf.

04Construction

Direction of works with trusted local contractors and craftsmen, from groundworks to handover.

05Interiors & Landscape

Continuity from architecture to interiors, vineyards, olive groves, pools and gardens.

06Ongoing Care

Monitoring, maintenance planning and further phases as the estate evolves through seasons and use.

Every commission begins with a site & feasibility study. Working in English and Italian, on sites across Umbria and Tuscany.
