The goal of this project was to provide the planning of a multifunctional centre that should host Tourist information Centres for the “City of culture” event Perugia-Assisi 2019 and include an Infopoint, a congress centre, a multimedia museum, a bookstore and a café-restaurant.Given the particular characteristics of the project area with important historical buildings like the Rocca Maggiore of Assisi, the main idea of the project was to exploit the level curves and create an organism that harmonises with the hill and the surrounding olive orchard and thus keeping the visual impact to a minimum. The project sets out the expansion of the fortress by a new point of focus connected to the east building and to the underground structure by a covered walkway.The resulting multi-purpose building has a series of units connected with one another by a museum circuit around which the functionalities are developed.
